COVID-19 Wage Subsidy #8 now open

Wage Subsidy #8 is now open and is to help employers, including self-employed people, to pay employees of businesses affected by a change in COVID-19 alert levels and the COVID-19 Protection Framework.

There are two other COVID-19 payments, available at any alert level and the COVID-19 Protection Framework, to all employers and self-employed people regardless of revenue. These payments are to support employees who can’t work because of self-isolation or testing requirements.

COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme is available for employers, including self-employed people, to help pay their employees who need to self-isolate and can’t work from home.

COVID-19 Short-Term Absence Payment is available for employers, including self-employed people, to help pay employees who can’t work from home and need to stay at home while waiting on COVID test result.

You can only get one type of COVID-19 payment at a time for an employee.
