COVID-19 Wage Subsidy #7 opens Friday 11 November

An update on Wage Subsidy support from the Ministry of Social Development is outlined below:

Applications for the COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021 #6 will close at 11.59pm on Thursday 11 November.

Applications for Wage Subsidy August 2021 #7 open at 9am on Friday 12 November and it will be available until 11.59 pm Thursday 25 November.

The Wage Subsidy is to help employers, including self-employed people, to pay employees of businesses affected by a change in COVID alert levels.

There are two other COVID-19 payments, available at any alert level to all employers and self-employed people regardless of revenue. These payments are to support employees who can’t work because of self-isolation or testing requirements. 

COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme is available for employers, including self-employed people, to help pay their employees who need to self-isolate and can’t work from home.

COVID-19 Short-Term Absence Payment is available for employers, including self-employed people, to help pay employees who can’t work from home and need to stay at home while waiting on COVID test result.

You can only get one type of COVID-19 payment at a time for an employee.
